A really good course. Although it was a cold night the time just seemed to fly by. The lighting and smoke effects were great and very convincing as were the reenactors, for whom nothing was too much trouble. Came away with more than a few good shots and it also boosted my knowledge and confidence of low light shooting.

Another excellent workshop with Nikon School with the added bonus of a wildlife expert (Chris Gomersall) working alongside Neil and Ricci. A variety of birdlife, red squirrels, stags, hinds and the icing on the cake for me was the opportunity to find and photograph Mountain Hares in their natural habitat. With evening lectures, good food and accommodation, I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone interested in nature and wildlife and of course 3 experts on hand to answer any questions.

I had a fabulous evening at Didcot Railway Centre in the atmosphere of steam trains, the air filled with steam and smoke, lighting and period dressed actors to give feel of being back in the age of steam. The experience and advice of Ricci and Neil was invaluable. I learnt so much about my camera and photography and came home with plenty of wonderful photographs.

This excellent course covered much more than Focusing- presentation was well paced by a highly knowledgeable trainer- a huge amount of knowledge gained. This course has certainly improved my understanding and will help take more successful pictures.

The experience provided a unique mix a photographing portrait and steam train together. The models were brilliant in the cold weather and had an incredible ability to stay still. The backdrop of the steam trains were stunning.
Topped with the expert ability of the Neil, Ricci, & Maja to help with setting and guide on any questions we had.
Overall a brilliant experience. Looking forward to taking part in more courses.

This was a great place to visit - may well go back on a different day to just appreciate the engines gathered together here. But really special to be there with all the lights and smoke and models providing so many different scenarios to capture. It was challenging to shoot in the lowish light and smoke, sometimes needing manual focussing and long exposures, but great practice to develop those skills. Appreciated it being quite a small friendly group swapping places and tips. Really enjoyable
