I found this course to be an excellent follow on course from the first one. As someone coming from another system I've gained a good overview of the menus that are available to me.

Despite the absence of Astro opportunities, Ricci extended delegates on the Landscape exercises, forcing us to try multiple different long exposure settings, challenging us on composition, and providing technical help that opened up new opportunities. Tasks such as photographing a single tree, or chasing the tide, evolved into real learning experiences. The fire-spinning, whilst proving a good distraction when waiting for the weather to clear, was enjoyed by all.

Having not shot any landscapes since my trip with Nikon School UK back in January 2024, it felt great finally dusting off the cobwebs and getting back out. Ricci helped immensly with technical guidance in relation to the camera gear and ensure we all had plenty of opportunities to take photographs in a wide range of locations. And to compliment the trip we stayed at The Smugglers Rest, where our host, Will and Stacy were simply amazing, extremely accommodating and made us feel very welcome.

After School Club fills in the gaps that you might be wondering about, or that you didn't know that you needed to know to improve your photography. As a Nikon owner / shooter, I find it to be a very valuable resource. Hearing about Nikon School events, and seeing resulting images, always adds to the evening.

As with the other two parts to this course on the Z50 II this was 3 hours well spent. Neil has a good presentation style and obviously a great amount of knowledge on photography, cameras and lenses. Hot sun and light breezes made a perfect backdrop to photographing seabirds from a boat. Gannets dived, razorbills carried small fish homewards and Neil offered helpful guidance and advice, loan lenses and compositional tips. On the cliff tops, the birds jostled, took off and landed in their thousands, as bright sunlight and dark shadow presented challenges. Rachel supplemented Neil’s tuition with her own experience and insights. I took a lot of photos, some pleasing. It was a memorable day.
