An Excellent Introduction to Nikon

RATING: 5 of 5
DATE: AUGUST 2019

COURSE: Experience Day: Landscapes - Using Filters

I have recently bought into the Nikon system and booked this course to help me get the best out of it. Neil was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and I came away with a solid understanding of what my new camera can do. The venue was perfect for practising different techniques and the course was well structured and paced. Thank you Nikon!

Portraits.... How to get started.

RATING: 5 of 5
DATE: AUGUST 2019

COURSE: Experience Day: Portrait Photography

As always Neil gives a great mix of theory and practical demonstrations. This course is very much a follow on from the speedlight training but more hands on.
It's a great way to get the basic understanding of portrait photography and Nick, our model was excellent throughout the day.
A very good training course.

COURSE: The Art of Dog Photography: British Native Breeds

A great day that provided the opportunity to capture some fantastic photographs of some truly fantastic dogs. Fast moving with changing light conditions demanding careful consideration of lens, shutter speed, aperture and technique. Under Neil's guidance I think everyone went home with a smile on their face, confident that they had captured images which they could be really proud of.
The venue was perfect and everything very well organised by Nikon and the KC. Dog owners were brilliant.

Informative & Enjoyable

COURSE: The Art of Dog Photography: British Native Breeds

I went on this course to answer a few questions about my own technique & results from photographing my own dogs. Neil was a great instructor who gave us the ideal camera settings for these fast moving subjects. He also let us know when conditions required small tweaks to those settings and was happy to answer any questions that arose during the day. The dogs available to photograph were diverse and often rare species that were put through their paces by their handlers. Overall excellent day.

COURSE: The Art of Dog Photography: British Native Breeds

I had a lovely time at the British Native Breeds course last week. We were treated to a whole host of rare and endangered breeds together with their very knowledgeable handlers. There was plenty of time to photograph each dog and the delegates were organised to ensure everyone got a good opportunity to be in a prime position. An added bonus was some post processing tuition at the end of the day .... most welcome after a full on day of shooting. I highly recommend this course.

excellent photographic day at the Hawk Conservancy

COURSE: Experience Day: Wildlife - Birds of Prey

It was very helpful to have the briefing session allowing questions before venturing out to take photographs. Ricci encouraged us to ask questions and was available with suggestions right through the day. Having alternative Nikon equipment available to try is a really good idea although unfortunately it has tempted us to consider buying another lens.

It was an excellent day and I learned a great deal. I tried settings I have not used before and have some decent photos to show for it. I would be very happy to do another course in the hope of improving further.

Birds of Prey

RATING: 5 of 5
DATE: JULY 2019

COURSE: Experience Day: Wildlife - Birds of Prey

Ricci was very clear with the camera settings before we went out, and I did alter what I had during the morning, which produced a higher keep percentage than I normally get. Of course normally I don’t have the opportunity to photograph birds repeating a similar flight path, and it was an uplifting experience both to watch the birds and to be so close to them. I appreciated the fact that other than for the public birding display, our small group were in spaces that were separate from the general public.

COURSE: Experience Day: Macro Photography

The course was very informative and helpful. Neil is very knowledgable on the subject and was just so helpful. The course for me was pitched at exactly the right level and I got so much from it. Great value for money and I'm approaching Macro Photography with renewed vigour. Thank you

Watch the birdy.

COURSE: Experience Day: Wildlife - Birds of Prey

A great day for testing one's camera skills with the 'models' in static poses to flying across water and though dappled woodland and high in the sky undertaking some amazing acrobatic feats for food. Highly recommended.

Shooting birds of prey on the move

RATING: 5 of 5
DATE: JULY 2019

COURSE: Experience Day: Wildlife - Birds of Prey

The course was lead by two knowledgeable experts. Ricci Chera, with advice - and more importantly help in setting up a camera, making ISO and shutter speed adjustments to suit the subjects and background. I learnt some significant tips for good photography, which I have been able, very shortly afterwards, to put to very good use. This is a good team who made the day very worthwhile without over-complicating things. Thoroughly recommended both for this and the availability of subject material.
