This was my first training experience with Nikon School and this definitely won't be the last. Ricci spent almost an hour explaining some of the fundamentals of low light photography and created lot of excitement by sharing stunning pictures of locations we were to visit. The evening was enjoyable, fun and most important full of new learnings & this was all possible because of Ricci's friendly and professional approach. A lovely evening !!!

This getting started with portrait photography course is a well-rounded and balanced day to get to grips with various camera settings and basic lighting set-ups for portrait photography. Neil, our tutor, was extremely knowledgable and enthusiastic about the subject; happy to assist with any questions as we went along. There was a good insight into some of the key points of portrait photography through a presentation in the morning followed by ample opportunities to photograph the model later on.

Ricci led a really great evening, he set out some clear guidelines to achieve creative shots and what we could expect when out in the streets. The group had plenty of time at the various locations to experiment with different settings. Ricci was always on hand to lend his knowledge and expertise. I was pleased with some of my shots and I planning to hit the streets again to improve my technique.

My third session with Ricci and again I found him a great tutor - clear, supportive, fun, helpful and keen to make sure everyone got what they needed from the evening. A brief intro at the school with most of the time spent out and about in great spots around London getting light trails, lovely views on the Thames etc while learning about long exposures. Excellent! Ricci was a great tutor on this day photographing the talented dancer Chelsea in the streets around the school. I had been keen to try dance photography for the first time and to get more confident using a speed light and both were achieved. Ricci took us through some key stuff before we went out and then was on hand to help each of us as we had a go. We were lucky it was a small group. Chelsea was so patient with us! Much appreciated. This is my second time with the Nikon School. Thanks!

What a great way to spend a day! Neil, a Nikon expert, demonstrates different lighting set ups, different techniques, different camera settings .... whilst directing the model and making sure we were getting some excellent pictures. I had a great time on this course playing with an area of photography that I haven't done before. Ricci gave a really useful intro in the classroom before taking the group out on the road. He spent lots of time with us and gave great feedback. I'm glad a I brought a range of lenses to play with including my fish eye lens. Now if only we could bar cars and trains from a couple of bridges :-)

In a word, excellent. Ricci was informative, approachable, helpful and a great trainer for the course. I particularly enjoyed the structure of the course, the brief technical introduction, followed by 3.5 hours of walking through central London, stopping at a half dozen or so well selected locations with a variety of compositions to try out. We had plenty of time in each of these in which we could find some special shots and Ricci was always on hand to offer suggestions and advice.
