Inspiring and practical

COURSE: Virtual Landscape Tour - Lake District

I always thought those pro shots you see on Instagram were well out of my league, well they may still be but after attending this course I have more confidence in trying to reach their standards. I learned how its all about preparation, not just the equipment but also the location, time of day and conditions, plus patience to gain a chance at getting that perfect shot. It may take me some time to reach towards this level but this talk has certainly helped me aspire to those goals.

The Lakes

COURSE: Virtual Landscape Tour - Lake District

Really enjoyed the presentation by Neil & Ricci.
They showed some excellent images and the shared information on how they captured them. Which was nice!
The best bit; the combination of their enthusiasm and great pictures made me forget for a while I was stuck at home (and inspired me to get out to the Lakes ASAP).

COURSE: Virtual Landscape Tour - Lake District

A really useful guide to the Lake District and what to expect on the 2021 course. Also technically at the right level for me.

Interesting review of some excellent locations

COURSE: Virtual Landscape Tour - Lake District

Good presentation but the additional image settings data supposedly in the bottom left of the screen very rarely appeared. The flow / switch between the presenters seemed a little ill-organised. Whilst all presentations of this type / style are to an extent spontaneous there seemed to be a lack of direction and certainly repetition with the examples. Having said that the presentation was enjoyable and had a good number in the audience

Sunrise + Sunset

RATING: 5 of 5

COURSE: How to: Sunrise & Sunset Photography

Great little course, which was very informative. I wasn’t sure how much new knowledge I would come away with, but I did learn some very useful tips. The siting section was very useful.

Thanks to Neil and Ricci

COURSE: How to: Astrophotography

I needed to have some instruction on moon and astrophotography, I have taken photos in the past of the moon and mars but results could have been a lot better. Having taken this course, I now feel better able to start along better photographs. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and both tutors were very knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks

COURSE: Virtual Landscape Tour - Lake District

The online Virtual Landscape Tour of the Lake District was a joy. Being an amateur I was worried about keeping up with the conversation/concepts etc, however, Neil and Ricci took time to answer ALL questions asked and were able to do so in a fashion that informed both novice and experts on the course. This experience has removed all concerns I had over online courses and and so I am now looking at a couple of lengthier courses to improve my hobbyist photography skills... Thx Neil/Ricci :-)

COURSE: Virtual Landscape Tour - Lake District

Very effective communication skills to demonstrate the techniques, styles and equipment used. I like the contrast between Neil and Ricci’s exposure lengths. All demonstrated with good photos to show precisely what they mean and what can be achieved.

Informative and useful

COURSE: Virtual Landscape Tour - Lake District

I am an experienced club photographer and have viewed 3 courses to date and found them all very informative and useful. They dealt with landscape photography ,Interesting that they recommend the best out of lens use F8 - F14 to prevent refraction and softening of image. use .9 or 1.2 med. grad filter re add impact to sky and use 3/6/10 stop ND Filters. They were both big fans of use of 10 stop filter not only for Soft water but also movement in the clouds. Answered questions, enjoyed thanks.

Excellent Course - Educational and Enjoyable

RATING: 5 of 5
DATE: AUGUST 2020

COURSE: Virtual Landscape Tour - Lake District

Another thoroughly interesting and stimulating course covering several key photographic locations. The presenters showed several of their images from each location discussing their thought process, kit taken and used along with the filters used to create the images. Both presenters had different shooting styles so you had two ‘bites of the cherry’ for each image.
Thoroughly enjoyable and educational session, I feel I learnt a lot.
