COURSE: Experience Day: Wildlife - Coastal Seabirds

This was the 1st on location workshop I attended. It was a wonderful experience, learnt a lot about my camera and shooting wildlife. Neil made us comfortable, was very helpful, knowledgable and open to questions.
Would definitely attend another course in future.

RATING: 5 of 5

COURSE: How to: Landscape Depth Of Field

Neil presented information very clearly. I learned a lot about optimal settings as well as making better lens choices, FoV, focusing, shooting and processing. Finally, hyperfocal focusing makes sense! The session was packed with great advice, explanations and images.

COURSE: Virtual Landscape Tour - Northumberland

As a native, I know Northumberland well but Neil and Ricci gave good advice about optimal times and approaches to shooting in the locations. They inspired me to keep returning to familiar places because the conditions are ever-changing.

Never disappointed by these two...

COURSE: Digital Darkroom: Black and White Photography

Another first rate effort from Neil and Ricci. Never disappointed by their presentations, and always leave with some little gem at the end. A must do course if you are thinking of making b&w images, either in camera or post. Neil's processing of images was a joy to see, even if it was in software I don't use ( he did actually do it in Affinity as well, so that was useful too.) All in all would highly recommend. Cheers guys...

Excellent workshop which covered the core topic very well and brought to the fore thinking about how technology advances change how you work in the field!

Depth of Field in detail

RATING: 5 of 5
DATE: AUGUST 2021

COURSE: How to: Landscape Depth Of Field

This course, expertly delivered by Neil, went into great detail covering not just the basics you would expect such as the settings for the camera but also described how to get the best out of the specific lens you may be using and how to nail that exposure through the best place to focus. If you like getting into the detail then Neil provides enough information for you to take it further if you want but what was covered was more than sufficient to improve your landscape photography.

Zooming in on landscapes

RATING: 5 of 5
DATE: AUGUST 2021

COURSE: How to: Landscape Depth Of Field

Despite without being in the field, this was an excellent tutorial. I joined basically to 'mug up' on techniques but found that there were things that hadn't occurred to me before that were demonstrated to good effect. Neil answered all the questions posed by the students clearly and succinctly and the quick demo on post-processing was very useful. A subject that could have been difficult to explain remotely was coherently shown.

My Lightbulb Moment!

RATING: 5 of 5
DATE: AUGUST 2021

COURSE: How to: Landscape Depth Of Field

An excellent workshop which was perfectly timed for me. I am fairly new to Nikon and whilst I am now familiar with the menus, Neil’s teaching of the subject combined with camera tips and tricks was just what I needed to get to grips with hyperfocal distance calculations in the field.
