LATEST NEWS - During the challenging times we are all facing in the UK, our first thoughts are for the health and wellbeing of our photographic community and staff. With this in mind, Nikon School at Margaret Street will be closed until further notice. In the meantime, Nikon School will be hosting a range of online workshops, talks and seminars.
Nikon School are delighted to be co-hosting a Q&A talk with wildlife photographer Margot Raggett. Nikon School's 'At Home with' talks allow you to be inspired by a professional photographer talking about their approach to producing images in a variety of different situations. The images, talks and Q&A will give you the chance to see and hear what is actually like to be a working photographer within the industry and the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about their techniques, kit and photography style
In 2014 wildlife photographer Margot Raggett saw a poached elephant and decided to take action. She asked fellow photographers if they would donate images for a book on elephants to raise awareness and funds and Remembering Elephants were born. This launched to great success and was quickly followed by Remembering Rhinos in 2017, Remembering Great Apes in 2018 and in October 2019, Remembering Lions. To date the book series has raised more than £600,000 for conservation projects in over 27 countries across Africa and Asia and has included images donated by 150 of the world’s top wildlife photographers. Margot will discuss some of the hurdles she’s overcome in bringing the project to life, what she looks for when selecting images for the books and why she believes it is incumbent on wildlife photographers to give back to the subjects they photograph.
