Join Nikon School at Woburn Safari Park in Bedfordshire. This experience day is specifically tailored for photographers and those interested in taking up photography who may be limited in their mobility or may use a wheelchair or a mobility scooter. You will have the rare opportunity to photograph some spectacular animals close under the guidance of our Nikon School trainers.
Photographing animals can be very rewarding and difficult all at the same time, our Nikon School experts will be with you all day to help you with camera settings and techniques to help you get great images.
The day will include a private tour through the Safari Reserves in a VIP Land Rover with an
experienced guide and photography instructor, taking you amazingly close to magnificent animals such as giraffe, rhino, lions and tigers and through the Foot Safari, where you'll explore with a photography instructor the habitats of a host of smaller mammals and birds. Two trainers from the Nikon School will run the course, one of whom is also a wheelchair user.
Over lunch, you will have chance to review your images or ask any questions before we head back out to continue photographing.
Accessibility
Delegates may use their own wheelchair. For those who have concerns for mobility and don’t have their own scooter or wheelchair, Nikon has partnered with Mountain Trike who will be providing two powered and two self-propelled all-terrain wheelchairs for participants to use throughout our day at no charge.
The tour of the Safari Reserves will be in a VIP 4X4 vehicle. This is a taller vehicle than a
standard car but a step is available to aid getting in and out. The remainder of the Park is centred around tarmacked paths. There are some inclines that are manageable by wheelchair and the
all-terrain wheelchairs from Mountain Trike will be available if required.
Full details of accessibility at Woburn Safari Park can be found here.

If participants need the help of a carer on the day, for example to board and descend from a vehicle, a carer may accompany a participant into the Safari Park free of charge. Carers are able to benefit
from normal visitor access to the road safari in their own vehicle and to the foot safari. If a carer wishes to join the photography experience day, an additional full price ticket for the photography experience day must be purchased for the carer.
