Join us for an exciting day exploring and photographing the amazing scenery of the Scottish Highlands. This Nikon School adventure is limited to a small group of delegates, which gives you more time to spend with the Nikon School experts learning the techniques needed to take great landscape and wildlife images. The Scottish Highlands give us an almost unlimited photographic playground with mountains, waterfalls, coastal, rock formations, lochs, glens, castles and wildlife
The Scottish Highlands give us an almost unlimited photographic playground with mountains, waterfalls, coastal, rock formations, lochs, glens, castles and much, much more. If we are lucky, we may even get the chance to photograph some of the abundant native wildlife such as red squirrels, deer and highland cattle. Being in a small group also means we can access locations inaccessible to large groups.
No matter what your interest or level in photography there is something for everyone to photograph in the Scottish Highlands. This is a great opportunity to explore in a small group and learn how to shoot great landscape and wildlife images with Nikon School. We will guide you through the correct camera settings to make the most of the beautiful surroundings; covering techniques such as long exposures, bracketing, using filters, image composition and focusing techniques to ensure you get pin sharp images.
Starting from a hotel on the shores of Loch Ness, near Inverness, we are ideally placed to explore all of the Highlands. The day will be spent ‘following the light’ and we aim to visit locations that have been specifically chosen for spectacular photography depending on the prevailing light and weather. These may include: Skye, Cairngorms, Glencoe, Rannoch Moor, Wester Ross & Torridon, Bow Fiddle Rock and many other terrific locations. Weather permitting, we will also plan to photograph Sunrise and Sunset, if if the cloud cover allows even some Astro Photography.
Please note that in the event of severe weather the locations may have to be altered at the last minute.
On the day, we will endeavour to stop at a local cafe or restaurant for lunch, depending on the light and weather. Feel free to bring a packed lunch, snacks and a drink with you if you prefer.
Fitness: Most of the locations involve relatively short walks, but some of the locations will require walks along uneven tracks and paths. Because of this, a moderate to high level of fitness will be required on this course.
Please note there is no accommodation / meals / drinks included in this workshop.
This workshop is one of a number of individual days photographing the landscapes, coastlines and wildlife of Scotland. Please see the website for more information on the other days.

A good blend of challeging locations a weather conditions to overcome. Help was always on hand from the Nikon team.
