Join us for a full day exploring and photographing the stunning scenery around Buttermere in the Lake District. Buttermere and the surrounding area in the Lake District provides an amazing backdrop with sweeping landscapes, mountain views, lakes, lone trees and waterfalls. Being in a small group also means we can access locations inaccessible to large groups, whilst also shooting much quicker and visiting many more locations throughout the day.
No matter what your interest or level in photography there is something for everyone to photograph in the Lake District and this is a great opportunity to explore the national park and learn how to shoot great landscape images with Nikon School. We will guide you through the correct camera settings to make the most of the beautiful surroundings; covering techniques such as long exposures, using filters, image composition and focusing techniques to ensure you get pin sharp images. The day will be primarily spent around Buttermere (see full address at the bottom of this page), however, we may explore further into the Lake District depending on the light and weather conditions.
Fitness: Most of the locations involve relatively short walks, but some of the locations will require a walk along uneven tracks and up steep paths. Because of this, a moderate to high level of fitness will be required on this course.
Depending on the weather and light we aim to visit several locations that have been specifically chosen for spectacular photography. Please note that in the event of severe weather the locations may have to be altered at the last minute.
If you would like to borrow any camera and lenses for this course please get in contact with us at [email protected] with your request and we will do our best to bring it along. Please note we will need a minimum of one weeks notice for any requests
We will meet in the car parks next to the Buttermere Court Hotel - precise joining instructions will be sent nearer time
Please bring change for the car park
There are a few tearooms at Buttermere which we will endeavor to stop at for a break / lunch, but feel free to bring a packed lunch, snacks and drinks if you want as the tearooms can get very busy which may impact our time spent photographing the Lakes.
