Nikon School Adventures: Iceland Midnight Sun

Overview

Join Nikon School on a photographic adventure of a lifetime, photographing the stunning landscapes of Iceland. This workshop will be led by Neil Freeman and a local Icelandic Guide. Iceland is without doubt one of the most spectacular and dramatic photographic destinations, a landscape which has been sculpted by the extremes of nature; earthquakes, volcanoes and glaciers and as a result is a landscape photographer’s paradise. This workshop aims to make the most of the amazing light and long days that are available during the summer in Iceland. Our plan (weather permitting) will be circumnavigate the entire island, giving you the opportunity to photograph the iconic Iceland landscapes that are inaccessible during the winter. We will also visit some of the more secret and lesser known locations.

Neil is very experienced in leading photography workshops in Iceland and between Neil and our guide, they have extensive knowledge great locations to photograph in Iceland. Neil can show you the best setups for your camera, lenses, filters and tripod to ensure that you can come away from this workshop with some amazing images.

We will be travelling around Iceland using 4x4's. All hotels and guesthouses are ones that are known to us. They are all very clean of good standard with your own room and bathroom.

An outline itinerary is as follows - Please note this is weather dependent, so we may need to change the arrangements and locations.

16th June 2022

Arrival at the Hotel in Iceland. Evening briefing from Neil with the possibility of a Sunset shoot, weather conditions permitting.

We will start heading south, stopping at some of the stunning locations along route 1 in south west Iceland. Depending on the weather and light we will overnight in Vik or continue travelling further towards Hofn.

There is plenty to do in this area with locations to visit that only a few locals know of. We may again visit the diamond beach depending on the light and weather.

Day 3 – 19th June 2022

We may start by revisiting Vestrahorn, before making our way up the east coast with the magnificent Fjords, waterfalls and canyons. There is so much to photograph along this route, you will be spoilt for choice before stopping at our hotel in the north east of Iceland
