VIP Experience: Dunstanburgh

Overview

Join us for a full day exploring and photographing the stunning coastline around Dunstanburgh. This VIP experience is limited to four delegates, allowing us more time to teach you the techniques needed to take great landscape images. The Northumberland coastline provides an amazing backdrop with castle ruins, harbours, dramatic coastal rock formations and bays, and if we are lucky, maybe some coastal wildlife. Being in a small group also means we can access locations inaccessible to large groups, while also shooting much quicker allowing us to visit many more locations on the day to practice your newly learned skills

Course Contents

No matter what your interest or level in photography there is something for everyone to photograph on the coast. This is a great opportunity to explore in a small group and learn how to shoot great landscape images with Nikon School. We will guide you through the correct camera settings to make the most of the beautiful surroundings; covering techniques such as long exposures, using filters, image composition and focusing techniques to ensure you get pin sharp images. The day will primarily be spent around Dunstanburgh and Craster (see full address at the bottom of this page), however, we may explore further depending on the light and weather conditions.

Fitness: Most of the locations involve relatively short walks, but some of the locations will require a walk along uneven tracks and up uneven paths. Because of this, a moderate to high level of fitness will be required on this course. Depending on the weather and light we aim to visit several locations that have been specifically chosen for spectacular photography. Please note that in the event of severe weather the locations may have to be altered at the last minute.

Please note that you will have to pay for parking at Craster.

We will endeavour to stop at a local cafe or restaurant for lunch, however feel free to bring a packed lunch and drink with you if you prefer.

If you would like to borrow any cameras or lenses for this course please get in contact with us at [email protected] with your request and we will do our best to bring it along. We require at least one weeks notice for any requests

Fantastic Workshop

Had a great day exploring this gorgeous area with an instructor who knew the best locations for the best shots. Thanks to Neil for letting me borrow lenses, filters, for challenging my thinking and keeping me on the straight and narrow. Thanks also for the discount code and the list of gadgets I’ll Be treating myself to. Look forward to my next workshop, hopefully in the Lake District. For anyone debating the price vs benefit - don’t, it’s worth every penny.
