Join us for a full day exploring and photographing the amazing locations to be found around Derwentwater. The Lake District provides an amazing backdrop with mountains, lakes, jetties, rock formations and bays, and if we are lucky, maybe some wildlife. Being in a small group also means we can access locations inaccessible to large groups, while also shooting much quicker and therefore visiting many more locations on the day to practice your newly learned skills.
No matter what your interest or level in photography there is something for everyone to photograph around the Lakes. This is a great opportunity to learn how to shoot great landscape images with Nikon School. We will guide you through the correct camera settings to make the most of the beautiful surroundings; covering techniques such as long exposures, using filters, image composition and focusing techniques to ensure you get pin sharp images. The day will primarily be spent around Derwentwater (see full address at the bottom of this page), however, we may explore further depending on the light and weather conditions.
Fitness: Most of the locations involve relatively short walks, but some of the locations will require a walk along uneven tracks and up uneven paths. Because of this, a moderate to high level of fitness will be required on this course. Depending on the weather and light we aim to visit several locations that have been specifically chosen for spectacular photography. Please note that in the event of severe weather the locations may have to be altered at the last minute.
If you would like to borrow any cameras or lenses for this course please get in contact with us at [email protected] with your request and we will do our best to bring it along. We require at least one weeks notice for any requests.
Please note that you will have to pay for parking at Derwentwater. We will endeavor to stop at a local cafe or restaurant for lunch, however, please bring a packed lunch and drink with you if you prefer.
Learned new things on the course about my camera that I was not taking advantage of that greatly improved the way i was taking landscape images
