Join us for a full day of exploring and photographing some of the amazing Waterfalls the Yorkshire Dales has to offer. The Yorkshire Dales have over 30 amazing waterfalls and during this course we will be visiting some of the famous waterfalls as well as the lesser known ones. On the day you will learn the best camera settings, tips and techniques for photographing waterfalls and how to use ND and Polarising filters to best effect. Weather permitting there will be lots of time shooting in front of waterfalls to practice your newly learned skills.
No matter what your interest or level in photography, there is something for everyone on this workshop and is a good opportunity to learn how to shoot great waterfall images. We will guide you through the correct camera settings to make the most of the beautiful surroundings, covering techniques such as; long exposures, using filters, image composition as well as focusing techniques to ensure you get pin sharp images. The day will primarily be spent exploring the waterfalls across Wensleydale (see full address at the bottom of this page), however, we may travel further depending on the light and weather conditions.
Fitness: Most of the locations involve relatively short walks, but some of the locations will require a walk along uneven tracks and up uneven paths. Because of this, a moderate to high level of fitness will be required on this course.
Depending on the weather and light, we aim to visit several locations that have been specifically chosen for spectacular photography.
Please note that in the event of severe weather the locations may have to be altered at the last minute.
If you would like to borrow any cameras or lenses for this course, please get in contact with us at [email protected] and we will do our best to bring it along. We require at least one weeks notice for any requests.
Please note that you will have to pay for parking at some of the locations, most of the parking will be in National Trust car parks. We will endeavor to stop at a local cafe or restaurant for lunch, however, please bring a packed lunch and drink with you if this is preferred.
Another really good course with Neil full of learning. Neil always makes sure you get the most out of the day and out of your camera. He will help find the shot, guide you to set up your camera, find even better compositions and achieve your vision for each waterfall. His knowledge and ability to find the best shots is inspiring. Thank you Neil, as always I've got some fantastic images.
