15th Oct – 26th Oct ( 12 days )
This is a true adventure where we will be both travelling and photographing of the beaten track and visiting places often unseen by tourists. Having done this trip on two previous occasions I can assure you this is the photographic trip of a lifetime.
We will meet in Yangon photographing for the day and then taking a small plane to Myiek where we will stay for a few days before making our way back on a people carrier to Yangon stopping of at Dawei, Ye and Mawlamyine each for a couple of days.
All these locations have been visited before. Please take a look at https://www.shootthestreet.co.uk/documentary-photo... to get a real flavour of the trip.
All internal transport will be arranged apart from flights.
For me, street photography is about capturing candid images with some elements of posed environmental portraits that document everyday real-life. I think street photography images should engage the audience in the story of the subjects’ life.
What will you learn? Predominantly we will be capturing day to day street life, learning to be aware of the background and environment to create complex and interesting images. I cover techniques including; layering, micro-composition and the introduction of compositional elements that will add depth and detail to take your photography to another level.
What does a workshop look like? I will be with you every day from breakfast until evening dinner, shooting in small groups of 2/3 people maximum and swapping around so we all have opportunities to learn and mix with each other. All the adventures are extremely small groups with an ideal number being 4-6 people on each trip. We download and edit each day and I critique on a daily basis talking through your images and discussing both the strengths and the ways you can improve for the following day.
