This workshop will show you how to shoot urban Dance portraits using Speedlights on location. Starting with a single Speedlight, we will explore how to look at light and the many ways to colour, shape, modify and diffuse and freeze movement as well as using creative blur. Working with a professional dancer, you will have many opportunities to shoot for your portfolio. We will also cover how to work with flash gels and show you how to easily control multiple Speedlights to create complex and theatricle looking dance portraits.
This Nikon School workshop will explain the steps, tricks and tips needed to shoot great dance portraits with either single or multiple speedlights and coloured gels.

Ricci was a great tutor on this day photographing the talented dancer Chelsea in the streets around the school. I had been keen to try dance photography for the first time and to get more confident using a speed light and both were achieved. Ricci took us through some key stuff before we went out and then was on hand to help each of us as we had a go. We were lucky it was a small group. Chelsea was so patient with us! Much appreciated. This is my second time with the Nikon School. Thanks!
