Get ready for an unforgettable day behind the lens at the British Wildlife Centre. This isn’t just a photography course—it’s an exclusive experience with some of Britain’s most iconic and elusive wildlife.

After a quick introduction by Nikon School and an experienced wildlife keeper, you’ll spend the day outdoors, camera in hand, capturing incredible shots of this animals. This is a great opportunity to get really close to our native British wildlife, and in some instances, you will be able to enter the animals enclosures while under supervision of the keeper.

The schedule is flexible depending on the light and weather making every experience is unique—no two days are the same! Unlock your wild side with this British wildlife photography experience.

Join Nikon School on exclusive and immersive photography experience at the British Wildlife Centre:

  • Exclusive Access: Participants will enjoy special entry to the Wildlife Centre and its animals, away from the usual crowds.
  • Close Encounters: There will be opportunities to get very close to native British wildlife, and in some cases, enter animal enclosures under the supervision of an experienced keeper.
  • Expert Guidance: You’ll be guided by a knowledgeable keeper who will share insights about the animals and ensure safety.
  • Photography Instruction: A Nikon trainer will be present to discuss and demonstrate photography techniques, camera settings, and composition tips.
  • Hands-on Experience: You can try out the latest Nikon camera equipment (subject to availability).
  • Learning Environment: Suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced photographers.

The British Wildlife Centre provides a great backdrop for photography giving you the chance to get excellent wildlife images. The Schedule for the day is flexible depending on the co-operation of the animals, but we would hope to photograph:

Scottish wildcats
Hedgehogs
Deer
Harvest mice
Owls (perched)
Otters
Polecats
Mink
Water voles
Badgers

Please note this may change due to weather conditions and the co-operation of the animals.

Tea / Coffee will be available on arrival at the centre, but not food. Please bring a packed lunch / snacks or your own drinks with you.

  • Medium and Long telephoto lenses (around 24-120 and 400mm)
  • Memory cards and spare batteries
  • Mono-pod (optional)

  • Outdoor shoes
  • Wet weather clothing
  • A plastic bag or waterproof coat will be useful to use to kneel or lie down on the grass for interesting camera angles.
