This workshop will give you the opportunity to photograph performers as they move through amazing moves performing ballet like poses on ropes and silks. This 'athletic performance art' moves gives you a chance to capture some unique images, using speedlights to freeze the action or perhaps use a slow shutter shutter speed for images with dynamic motion blur. This is a 'hands-on' practical course, with the emphasis on providing you with as much photography time as possible. After a short introduction and safety briefing, a Nikon School expert will talk you through the best camera settings and focusing modes to capture a range of different images throughout the day. We will also show you how to setup Nikon speedlights so you can take complete control of lighting and then shoot creatively lit images. There will be plenty of opportunities to repeat and try different images to make sure you have the best collection of images possible. While you can shoot with ambient light, this course is designed around using flash light to illuminate our subjects. We have will have 3 different performers available so there will always be something going on for you to photograph
Refreshments will be available at the location. but not food. Please bring a packed lunch / snacks or your own drinks with you. There are a number of cafes / supermarkets nearby if you wanted to get lunch on the day

Always on the lookout for something a bit different and this one fits the bill. We had 3 models/performers all keen to please. Managed to fit in a lot of different types of photography. Started with fairly straightfoward potraits but with a variety of lighting techniques. Then it was on to the acrobatic stuff with the opportunity to freeze the action or capture movement. The only downside is that the background (walls ceilings etc) are a bit messy and unattractive but that can be overcome.
