Experience Day: Landscapes - Caves

Overview

This is a unique photographic adventure for a small group of delegates to join us while we teach you how to shoot in a various challenging environments. The course will start by photographing the beautiful scenery of the Ingleborough nature trails (weather permitting) including waterfalls, lakes, forests, and for the more adventurous, perhaps Trow Gill. We will then move onto photographing the main attraction of this course which is exclusive access to Ingleborough show caves. We will show how to get the best from your camera in low light surroundings whilst we take in the majesty of the caves and the rock formations around us. After spending a couple of hours in the caves, we can then again continue photographing Ingleborough Nature trail as we make our way back towards Clapham and conclude the workshop by reviewing and editing a few images from the day.

Course Contents

No matter what your interest or level in photography there is something for everyone on this course. It is a great opportunity to explore in a small group and learn how to shoot great landscape images with Nikon School. We will guide you through the correct camera settings to make the most of the beautiful surroundings, covering techniques such as; long exposures, using filters, image composition and focusing techniques to ensure you get pin sharp images. The day will primarily be spent around Clapham, Yorkshire and the Ingleborough Estate (see full address at the bottom of this page), however, we may explore further into the dales depending on the light and weather conditions.

Fitness: Most of the locations involve relatively short walks, but some of the locations will require a walk along uneven tracks. Because of this, a moderate level of fitness will be required on this course. The underground photography in the caves requires no special equipment as we will be staying within the showcase part of the cave system. Please note that in the event of severe weather the locations may have to be altered at the last minute.

If you would like to borrow any cameras or lenses for this course please get in contact with us at [email protected] with your request and we will do our best to bring it along. We require a minimum of one weeks notice for all camera and lens requests.

Please note that there is limited free roadside parking in Clapham otherwise you will have to pay for parking in the main car park.

The meeting point for this course will be Clapham Car Park.
