Course Contents

No matter what your interest or level in photography there is something for everyone in the Yorkshire dales and this is a great opportunity to explore the national park and learn how to shoot great landscape images with Nikon School. We will guide you through the correct camera settings to make the most of the beautiful surroundings; covering techniques such as long exposures, using filters, image composition and focusing techniques to ensure you get pin sharp images.

The day will primarily spent around Ribblehead (see full address at the bottom of this page), however, we may explore further into the dales depending on the light and weather conditions.

Fitness: Most of the locations involve relatively short walks, but some of the locations will require a walk along uneven tracks and up mountain paths. Because of this, a moderate to high level of fitness will be required on this course.

Depending on the weather and light we aim to visit several locations that have been specifically chosen for spectacular photography. Please note that in the event of severe weather the locations may have to be altered at the last minute.

If you would like to borrow any cameras & lenses for this course please get in contact with us at [email protected] with your request. We will require a minimum of one weeks notice for any requests

Please note that you may have to pay for parking in some of locations we might visit

We will endeavour to stop at a local cafe or restaurant for lunch, however, if you wish to bring a pack lunch with you please feel free to do so.

Landscape - Ribblehead

A very enjoyable day out in the Yorkshire Dales practising and experimenting with landscape photography. The tutor, Neil, is obviously an extremely experienced and knowledgeable photographer knowing his subject and the area well. No question was too stupid and Neil has an excellent working knowledge of the various camera's and assocated software settings that arrived with the course students. The days route was well planned - and the sun came out to order! Great day.
