Nikon Russia Ambassador Kirill Umrikhin is one of Russia’s most renowned professional travel and sports photographers, using his work to explore the connection between extreme sports and nature. Following his graduation from Moscow’s Institute of Journalism and Literary Creativity, Kirill’s professional photography career began in 2004 with a job for snowboard magazine Onboard. His pictures have since been published in many sports, news and consumer titles across the globe. During recent years, Kirill has hosted several personal exhibitions and photography masterclasses. He has also secured award wins in the national photo contest ‘Best of Russia’ in 2013 and 2014, with his avalanche station photo featuring as one of Russia top ten images captured in the last decade. Defined by his thirst for adventure and love of sport, Kirill leads teams of athletes in sports such as snowboarding, skateboarding, wakeboarding, surfing, windsurfing and motorcycling.
